The Importance Of STEM Initiative In Education
STEM is the learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in an interdisciplinary or integrated approach. It is a way of thinking rather than learning them as stand-alone subjects.
A STEM student identifies a problem then gains and applies the knowledge to create possible solutions to that problem which can be tested. This deepens their understanding of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and how their principles and processes can be used together to achieve an outcome. This build skills that are inquiry and project based, developing creativity and critical thinking skills based on real world context.
Thus in recent times, STEM initiative in education have been a focus of discussion among educators across the world.

In a traditional classroom, students will be asked to research and then present posters on ways to stop litter going down the drain. While in a STEM classroom, students will be asked to design, build, test and rebuild, if necessary, a possible solution to the problem of litter going down the drain.
